A Malaysian In Singapore

Every single time when I am in Singapore I would feel very uneasy. It's because Singaporeans are such a sophisticated law abiding citizens that it's really hard for anyone to break the law there especially if you are not one of them. In Malaysia, it is so easy to break the law...

chewing gums?? No problem
smoke anywhere you like then just throw the ciggie butt on the floor?? No problem
throw rubbish anywhere you like?? No problem
spit?? No problem

As a smoker, I find it really hard for me to express myself through smoking in Singapore. Just imagine I can't even smoke at an open hawker stall. All the tables had a sign; "No Smoking By Law". And eventhough I managed to find a place to smoke, there is no rubbish bins for me to throw the ciggie butt. And where the hell am I suppose to throw it?? On the floor?? I really don't dare to do that. I later found out that the Singapore government had removed quite a number of rubbish bins especially at the MRT station as a counter-terrorism move. Wtf!!

Singapore is a really clean country. I mean super duper clean as compared to our Malaysia. Their Chinatown is so clean that I can see my own face on the tiles!! I can't even see a plastic bag or tissues on the floor. Not to mention ciggie butt. Talking bout Chinatown in Singapore. There was once when I passed by a souvenier stall and I overheard some of the Singaporeans saying ...."Malaysia, very dangerous one ler." Yah! You're right cocksucker!! Don't let me see your fucking face in Malaysia. And if I do, I'll kick your ass so hard that you'll land right back at Singapore!

But there is one thing that I really enjoy doing in Singapore. Cross a road. It's really fun!! The rules of road crossing anywhere in the world would be to look at your left, then right and then left before crossing depending on the traffic flow . Not in Singapore. If you see a zebra crossing, you can just walk straight to the other side of the road without looking anywhere. Just look straight. All the cars will stop to let you cross. You don't need to wait for the car to stop. You just walk. I really like doing that in Singapore. I would cross the same road a few times just to enjoy my sense of authority over the Singaporeans. Back in Malaysia, I'd suggest that you order your own coffin before doing that.

I believed that Singaporeans do look down on Malaysians. They always feel superior compared to us. They drive big cars not Protons, they earn big bucks (exchange rate higher than RM) and they're living in an ultra modern city where crime rates are pretty low. Why do I think that they look down on us? Just look at the picture below!!

This is the view that I get for being a Malaysian staying in a Singapore hotel!
